Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is an essential entity that manages the city's water, wastewater, and waste. Like most municipal entities, the City of Seattle's departments primarily use standard Windows-based computers, which are heavily integrated into a secure, cloud-forward infrastructure managed by the Seattle Information Technology Department (Seattle IT).
Windows-based systems are standard for general administration and specialized department use. When hard drives fail or server partitions become corrupted, it threatens the city's daily infrastructure.
Traditionally, the city brought data recoveries to our lab, which is now located at the UW Medicine Building in Ballard. Because professional data recovery requires professional spacing, our new post-graduate facility ensures that SPU's critical data is extracted safely, preserving the city's robust infrastructure.
